Cochlear’s HOPE for Children

Cochlear’s lifetime commitment to our recipient community goes far beyond the technology of our cochlear implants.  Research has shown that, even with the benefit provided by Nucleus cochlear implants, most children require specific support and services at school that can range from use of an FM system to special instruction outside of the regular classroom.  Last spring, Cochlear Americas initiated the HOPE (Habilitation Outreach for Professionals in Education) program to provide products and services to help early intervention and school-based professionals meet the unique needs of children with cochlear implants.

Our HOPE Online training seminars for professionals have been enthusiastically received by the educational community.  Since March 2005, our electronic mailing list for this program has grown to over 1,000 addresses.  We are delighted to announce the launch of our 2005-2006 series of HOPE Online training seminars for teachers, speech-language pathologists, educational audiologists, early interventionists, administrators, and other school-based professionals who work with children who use cochlear implants.

These free, one-hour sessions, for which Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) are available, provide an easy-to-use virtual workshop with live audio and video.  The sessions are recorded and can be downloaded for viewing at any time.
