Can I use a telecoil with an FM system?
Nucleus recipients whose processors include the telecoil feature can receive the sound signal from a number of different FM systems through magnetic induction.
When using an accessory such as a neckloop or silhouette, the sound is delivered to the processor through the telecoil. For those with bilateral cochlear implants or for those who wear a hearing aid on the opposite ear, magnetic induction is an easy way to deliver the sound signal bilaterally. Some popular FM systems include a neckloop or silhouette and many FM systems that have a standard headset jack are compatible with commercially available neckloops and silhouettes.
