If you have ever worried about your sound processor not working after your warranty expires, a Cochlear Service Agreement* may be the answer. Cochlear understands that being without sound is frustrating for our recipients and that is why we offer Service Agreement coverage - so that you can have the best possible assurance of uninterrupted hearing. With several options to choose from, you’re sure to find the plan that’s right for your hearing lifestyle. Now it’s even easier to purchase a Service Agreement any time after your warranty expires. Click here for information on your waranty.

Why would I need a Service Agreement?

If your processor malfunctions after your warranty period has expired, you may be faced with equipment repair fees. Cochlear’s new Service Agreements protect your external system and free you from worry about problems like unexpected repairs, loss or theft of your external system and remembering to order batteries and other maintenance supplies.

And now with new Service Agreement plan options, you have more choices on the level of protection you can get for your external system. For example, if you’re a bilateral recipient, we offer a 2-processor coverage option designed specifically for those who have two sets of external equipment in constant use. And if you’re the parent of a recipient, you already know that kids can be hard on their external equipment. Service Agreements can provide a little extra piece of mind when it comes to additional repair fees and “off air” time for your child.

Your Service Agreement acts like insurance for your external system because repairs are covered and the cost of the agreement can be planned into your budget in advance. Having a Service Agreement allows you to protect your investment and support your hearing lifestyle.

What is covered under a Service Agreement?

Your sound processor, controller, headset components and cable coils are all covered under a service agreement. Below is a chart that summarizes this information.

Nucleus Equipment Covered by Service Agreement
Sound Processor(s) YES
Controller(s) YES
Headset Component(s) YES
Cable Coils YES

Cochlear’s Service Agreements do not cover batteries or accessory cables, unless otherwise provided by the plan you selected.

Am I eligible for a Service Agreement?

All recipients in the U.S. and Canada are eligible for these Service Agreement plans except those who are on Medicare Part B. Medicare covers repair and replacement services, therefore you are already covered and do not need to purchase a Service Agreement. If you are a Medicare beneficiary and aren’t sure if your repairs are covered, please call Cochlear’s reimbursement department at 1-800-633-4667.

What external equipment can I cover with a Service Agreement?

Cochlear is offering Service Agreement coverage for SPrint™, ESPrit™ 3G and Freedom™ systems.

When can I purchase my Service Agreement?

A Service Agreement can now be purchased for any eligible external system that is approaching warranty expiration or has a warranty that is already expired. If your system is approaching warranty expiration, a Service Agreement form will be mailed to you 90 days prior to the expiration date. If you’re not sure if you are under warranty, please call Customer Service at 1-800-523-5798 and we can help you determine the status of your current external equipment.

What are the Sevice Agreement an options and pricing?

There are three 12-month plans to choose from, plus an Advance Processor Purchase option. The three plan options offer different levels of coverage, ranging from basic repair/replacement services to a worry-free Complete Care Maintenance Plan.

Service Agreement Plan A

Service Agreement Plan A provides you with fast, expert repairs by Cochlear’s own trained technicians. With this plan you can be assured that when your processor, controller or headset isn’t working properly you’ll receive fast and responsive repair or replacement service with free shipping so that hearing interruptions are minimized.

The Annual Preventative Exchange option is an extra benefit that gives you more control over when your processor is “off air.” Once over the course of the 12-month Service Agreement you’ll have the opportunity to send your processor in for a preventative exchange, instead of waiting for a needed repair. The exchange can take place at any time over the agreement period, so you have the flexibility to determine what works best for your schedule.

*Preventative exchange feature is for processors only and exchanges your existing processor for a refurbished processor
