Baha FAQ: problems and repair

When my sound processor was sent away for repair I borrowed another one. It was the same sort as mine but I felt that I heard much better with it. Do you know why?
Every BAHA sound processor is unique so you won’t get exactly the same sound from every sound processor, even if it’s the same model. It may be possible to adjust your sound processor so it sounds more like the borrowed one, it may also be time to contact your audilogist.

My husband is a technician. Is it OK if he repairs the sound processor if it breaks?
No, absolutely not. But if he does, you will have to take responsibility for any further problems with your sound processor, which may have been caused by this repair.

The sound processor fell off and hit the ground. It still works but it’s not the same sound. What has happened?
Probably some damage to the transducer. You should contact customer service.

If the sound processor has become wet, what do I do?
Open the battery door. If you have a handheld hairdryer you can use this to dry out the inside of the sound processor. Be careful, keep the hairdryer at a distance from the sound processor and make sure you don’t use a low heat setting.
