Who's Who: John McClanahan

John McClanahan
Senior Director of Reimbursement, has been with Cochlear Americas since July 1997

John McClanahan is a graduate of Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas.  His 35 years in healthcare includes experience in health insurance/managed care, consulting, medical device manufacturing, and patient care.  For the last 18 years, John has worked in the reimbursement field. 

Before joining the Cochlear team, John managed reimbursement activities for the Technology Assessment Group (now an affiliate of the Lewin Group) in San Francisco, California, where his responsibilities included designing, developing, and managing pre- and post-product launch reimbursement support and patient assistance programs.

Strategic Initiatives

In his current role, John is involved in strategic initiatives to improve coverage and reimbursement for cochlear and auditory osseintegrated prosthetic implants.  John also provides reimbursement consulting, support and outreach to Cochlear Americas customers.  Like the rest of Cochlear Americas staff, John believes that our products change lives in a powerful, positive way.  He is committed to continuing to push for consistent reimbursement for our products and is dedicated to arming our users with the tools and resources necessary to do so.
