    • Accolades!

I want to thank you, and your Cochlear Corporation colleagues, for presenting a high-powered, and highly informative, conference. If it was Cochlear Corporation's intent to allow the cochlear implant recipients to gain a better awareness of the cochlear implant process, and improved technologies, I can safely say that the conference planners outdid themselves!

The social activities were a delight, mingled with other local CI-ers and their families, and we really had a good time. There were exhibits and demonstrations by Cochlear representatives who allowed us to try some of the peripherals and have our questions answered. The wonderful part of the whole thing was that there was so much camaraderie and exchange of information imparted not only by the Cochlear representatives and volunteers, but amongst the implantees as well. And of course, captioning and all the necessary supplementary hearing devices were provided to enable everyone to fully capture all the lectures.

I found the event to be truly inspirational and highly informative!

What was truly inspirational was the attention devoted to the younger CI recipients and their families. A lot of thought went into the preparations for this weekend, and it was gratifying to see how much attention was given not only to the informational aspects and programming, but also to the social activities as well. Being a senior citizen, and having grown up profoundly deaf, I have a deep appreciation for the opportunities being afforded these young people thanks to the work of Dr. Graeme Clark and his colleagues.

Should we be afforded the opportunity of attending another one of these functions, I highly recommend it to all of you. The Cochlear America people were wonderful! Not only the speakers, but everyone from those at the Registration Desk to the technical support personnel were extremely hospitable as well as informative. This was a great way to learn about our implants from the experts and enjoy a huge support group at the same time.

I went to this conference with Bradley who is 10 and his sister. I was so impressed with the lectures and the childcare. It was so inspiring to see so many implanted adults and children, many of whom were bilaterally Implanted.
